Does anyone have ANY ideas for some mental stimulation for our AmStaff? He has plenty of bones, and a handful of Kongs...I occasionally hide treats around the house before I leave work, he gets out in the morning for 15-20 minutes, and a decent walk in the evening, rides in the car at night with us...yada yada yada.

Lately, he seems to have the winter blahs.
I would like to get/make him something that would provide some real mental stimulation. He is a very inquisitive, very smart dog, but is content with the simplest things. There are only so many chew toys he can have- most of them he destroys within minutes (strong chewer).

We have considered adopting another AmStaff/Pit... a female; but that may only compound the issue. Before we make any move like that, we would like to give him some mental excersise.

Any ideas, thoughts would be appreciated!

They have these littel roll around toys that the dogs push around, and little treats and stuff come out of them. Maybe you should try that??

if he's being destructive i'de say it doesn't sound like he's getting enough exercise. a walks not enough to burn up all his energy. my dog was tearing up everything(i was walking her), then i started taking her jogging for about 2 miles everyday. then i started coming home to an apartment that hadn't been destroyed. oh, and i couldn't really run at the time so i got a long board. it's like a long skate board. thats alot of fun if your dog likes to pull. just make sure you don't run him over.
