When I replied to someone on my last message about my pits quirky behaviors it made me think about the time we were at the beach. We were walking our dog down the sidewalk by all the shops when bowzer saw a man smoking. They guy was dropping the ciggerette down from his mouth to his side and bowzer lurched and cowered back away from the guy. I realized then that he's probably never seen anyone smoking before up close. Then the guy yelled over to some other guy that my dog was going to attack him. Just thought it was kind of amusing.

I think your on to something here.

You could make allot of money off of this. You can create a new Quit smoking program. all you need is a dog people are intimidated by. LOL

But seriously, I think people are way to nervous & uptight around pits & other larger breeds like, dobbies, chows, etc....

I doubt he would have reacted the way he did if you were walking a Shih Tzu

What a great idea for a quit smoking program lol :-) I accidently discovered that my pit doesn't like knifes either. one night I was flipping a pocket knife open and shut in the living room, he heard and saw it and dropped his head and just stared me down. When we found him his neck was slashed open and he had gashed on his chest and shoulders. They were all pretty much scabbed over by the time we found him. I never wanted to think someone had actually done that to him, but seeing his reaction to the knife made me wonder.

Wow, would definately work for the Quit smoking program!!!!!

Smokey is horrified of fire and burning stuff, he will growl and lurch to get away.

WE saw a rottie once and the woman was sittin in a chair with the Rottie next to her, every time she lowered her cigarett, the dog would lick at the smoke!!

Maybe I'm wrong here, but isn't that very bad for a dog to be inhaling, let alone licking second hand smoke??
