These last few posts have just been crazy! Locked threads, edited threads, etc etc...
Some of these are just personal attacks to each other.
Even though it is slightly amusing....
(btw isnt hobbs the one that had 3 or 4 different names trying to promote his kennel?)

Doesent seem worth the time and effort to me.

Anyways.....
I got a new pit foster in yesterday. She is a 3 year old red nose female, and so far everything has been ok. She was surrendered to the pound by a family with 3 kids, the reason was because of allergies.
She seems to do ok in the house. She has been getting along with everyone so far. She will even curl up with the rest of the crew.
The problem is everytime I let her outside, my guys run around and go berserko playing and rough housing. They might come with in 3 or 4 feet of her and she lets out the loudest skin crawling scream I have ever heard and then cowars to the ground. I know they arent bumping into her, they arnt anywhere near her. Its almost like she is scared and feeling threatened. Its like she is frozen. She wont move until they have made it to the other side of the back yard.
Why does she do this? Any ideas? Im baffled on what to do for her.

it sounds like she's scared. she probably just needs to adjust to her new surroundings. maybe she is just scared of other dogs, or ones she doesn't know.

Maybe a bad experience of being rushed by other dogs before you got her? She could just be extra timid by nature, and their running so close scares her. With time and seeing that they're not going to hurt her, she should start to become less afraid. Just be careful and watch to make sure she doesn't start getting defensive around them (growling, hackling up, etc), as this could mean that she's gained some confidence and is thinking about "scaring" them off, which could end up as a fight.

Yeah, me too, I make one little comment and it gets taken too far, I think HOPS is bandogypsys, he must have felt threatened or something but that wasn't my intention, I actually feel sorry for him in a weird kind of way. I hate fighting!!

i don't feel sorry for him one bit, his sole reason for coming on this board was to try and pick a fight with people who thought he was going about things the wrong way, and wanted the answers to some very simple, basic questions, that he refused to even address. which brings me to my next question. is it pretty much standard "policy" to have to pay extra for a pups health certificate?

Hi Mayday, yes, unfortunately we've had to remove, edit and delete some threads and posts which did not comply with posting guidelines. - good luck with your new foster

I believe everyone is correct that a certain poster is the same Troll who was causing trouble before.

Benny Boy, I know you mean well but I have to ask you to please word your posts carefully especially when responding to someone like the above mentioned. Basically the best thing we all can do is ignore the offending poster until one of the moderators or administrator comes on to remove the thread. Answering those who have nothing better to do but cause trouble is not worth the reply!

thanks

I havent noticed any heckles or growling, but she is still unsure of herself.
Its just the wierdest thing how she does this scream like someone is killing her. She hasnt been out of the pound that long and I have seen some that after a week or two gain their confidence back and then show that they are dog aggressive.

I didnt find out if there were any other dogs in the home. Alot of times when they say "allergies" there is another reason that they dont say. I guess now it is just a waiting game.

Im just wondering if there are any other underlying issues that might surface later. Sometimes its hard to pull from the pound. You never know what happened to them and what will progress as they gain back their confidence.

She's had to have had a horrible experiance one time before. Maybe punished for playing, or attacked by another dog.

I would hold a leash on the other dogs, along with her on one as well. allow them to socialize in a controlled environment.

Becareful though, if she gets too afraid, she may result in an attack against you or the other dogs.
