Is this the parvo vaccine? The vaccine will not cure her if it is parvo. It could actually make her even sicker since her immune system is so low. Please take your pup to the vet. IP: Logged |

I agree, vaccines won't work on a dog if it's already showing symptoms of a disease. In addition, it can take up to a week for the vaccine to kick in, so even if she was vaccinated a few days before she came into contact with Parovirus, she may not have been protected at the time of infection. Hopefully it's not as serious as Parvo, but you do need to take her to the vet to find out what it is, as young pups can become ill very quickly. IP: Logged |

my dog just got parvo, and those are the symptomes that she was showing. you better hope thats not what it is, for your pups sake and yours, i went and visited her yesterday, it's so hard for me to see her like that. she looks like a skeleton thats been shrink wrapped with skin, and ontop of that she has all these different tubes coming in and out of her. and she was so dehydrated that her tear duct is showing alot more than it should(i don't know if it's the tear duct or not, it's just the corner of her eye). right now the vet bill is estimated to be up to 1200 when it's all said and done, but in my opinion it's worth every penny. as sick as she is it hasn't slowed down her tail from wagging when i come to see her, and her eyes still light up when i walk in. i can't get her to eat anything, i even went as far as going to the deli and getting some cold cuts, but no luck. the vet told me that this breed will usually pull through. but i'm still worried that she's not going to make it. yeah you need to take your dog to the vet like asap!! good luck. i had vaccinated my puppies two times each for parvo, once at 3 weeks again at6 and one of them still ended up with parvo. Its a horrible sickness.... Don't be fooled, just because a dog has its vaccinations doesn't mean it can't get it. A dog with Rabies vac can still get rabies....read up on it or ask your vet! IP: Logged |

It's awful that your dog had parvo, Bennyboy. I'm glad she's fine now!! IP: Logged |
