well the cost depends on the vet, when I got my females ears cropped it only cost me $75.00, but while I was looking around I found some Vets wanted up too $300.00, and that was for a pup. The older the dog is, usally after 6 months, the more it will cost. I would Say you should get your dogs ears done before they are 6 months of age, but you can do it at any age. some vets wont cut after 1 1/2 years of age.

It depends on the style of crop.... longer crops (the APBT show crop, dobie crop, boxer crop, etc) will usually cost more because of the amount of aftercare required (taping, posting, etc). Shorter crops like seen on some APBTs, Presas, etc are usually easier to get to stand, and require less post op visits, so they're cheaper.

There will also be a price difference depending on which cropping method the vet uses. The traditional crop is cheaper than laser cropping, but the laser cropping cauterizes the edges as it goes, so there is less bleeding, as well as a cleaner edge with less scar tissue.

It's generally best to crop between 8 and 12 weeks of age, but can be done at any age (though ears may or may not stand).

Don't be offended, and I'm not trying to start a debate, and in all honesty I should probably keep my mouth shut, but I don't know why anyone would want to cut off cute soft little doggy ears. I know the reasoning behind it, but I think ears are good.
