Blue dogs were pretty uncommon a few years ago, and of course, people looking for accessories like unusual or "rare" things, so breeders in it for the money found that they could charge a lot for the blue dogs, and people would still pay for them. Blue dogs are no longer hard to come by in most places in the US, but breeders still advertise them and similar colors are "rare" and unusual. Most decent breeders do not sell blue, blue fawn, etc dogs for more than other colors, because color of a dog means absolutely nothing as far as quality of a dog. IP: Logged |

My next pitbull will be a blue one from a registered breeder. (if I can find one, LOL) They are great looking dogs but people shouldn't charge more for the colouration, that's a bit rude!! IP: Logged |

I just bought a blue from a reputable breeder and she was not any more than the other pups. Keep looking around. I think I was lucky, after we decided on her, we found out that she was first pick female! IP: Logged |

I've just got a question. Why would the breeder sell the first pick female if she was in fact that? Just curious. IP: Logged |

Not sure either why he would sell her. He tried to get us to choose another one...I can give you his website, she's posted on there. He kept the best pick male for himself... IP: Logged |

The site is ************* [EDIT BY MODERATOR] I can't say enough of great things about them. Get this, they even came to PA to bring me my pup! They have called to check on how things are going, too. I think this was the only blue pup they had. Check out the site and you will see Comet Cozzie. [This message has been edited by Jas (edited 12-08-2003).] IP: Logged |

I read somewhere once upon a time that blue is not even really a color of the Pit Bull breed that it is originally Am Staff and was bred into Pitties? Anyone know the answer to this? A lot of breeders still will say blue or chocolate is a rare color trying to make more money off of it- but it really isn't a big thing any more. Just that most back yard breeders get word of that and think WOW $$$... Angie IP: Logged |

****[WEBSITE REMOVED BY MODERATOR]**** This is NOT a breeder I would go to. Over sized out of standard dogs. No health testings. $1000 for a pup out of non health tested parents.... come on what a rip off!

I would like to clear up the issue with *****[EDIT]****** being non-health tested. They are health guaranteed and came with registered health certificates. We had Comet checked out and she is in excellent health and has a beautiful coat. The vet said that she is the right size for her age. I would definitely buy from them again, and will in the future. As for $1000 a pup, this was extremely reasonable for what other breeders are asking. [This message has been edited by Jas (edited 12-08-2003).] IP: Logged |

Ok thanks for clearing that up. How did the parents on your pup score on the following tests OFA hips? Jus wondering. How long do they give you on the guarentee? How did your vet say your dogs would score on these?

PittyGrrls3, congrats on your new puppy! I wish you the best of luck and wish you the best of luck. The breed is a great one and I'm sure yours will be your best-friend/best dog!!! However, please take what I'm about to say as a grain of salt... (not too personal). I would never buy from this breeder. I understand that there is no I.Q test that is mandatory for breeders, and I'm not calling this breeder dumb etc... I just saw many red flags as soon as I read the intro page. Example: "OUR DOGS ARE LINE BREED OFF SOME OF THE BEST PRODUCING DOGS IN THE UNITED STATES." Now we all make mistakes but if I myself was trying to come off as being an educated breeder I would make sure my intro page was appropriately worded. Example 2: "WATCH OUT FOR SOME GREAT BREEDINGS THAT EVERYBODY WILL BE TALKING ABOUT!!! AND THE SHOW CIRCUIT BETTER WATCH OUT THE BIG DOGS ARE COMING AND TAKING OVER!!!!! Ok, maybe it's just my business sense, or maybe it's me having a "buyer beware!!" attitude but this not only turns me off from this breeder, but also seems to come off as a 13 year old boy with some dogs trying to sell them. All in all, this site/breeder seems VERY unproffesional to me. Please realize that I'm not saying this is for sure, I'm just making an educated assumption.

I would have to agree with them. NO matter what breed your looking into, you should always ask for all the test results, hip displacia, OFC all theat good stuff.....
I doubt they are a puppy mill, however breeding that many dogs in one season is rediculous. How can they socialize each puppy adequately??? You may be satisfied with your puppy, but I would beware. There were many red flags in the site that I knoticed as well. Good luck with your new puppy. IP: Logged |

Thanks Daddyfs and Neek!! She is beautiful. I hope her eyes stay as ice blue as they are now. She is the most loveable, sweet pup and the best addition to our family. I know that she was the best choice for us. [This message has been edited by PittyGrrls3 (edited 12-08-2003).] IP: Logged |

Okay, I am voicing my opinion here. I came on this message board in order to get info since I am new to the pit bull puppy world. I did not think that I was going to be bashed nor have my breeder bashed when all I tried to do was share information. DesertAPBT, you are the reason that I will probably never post here again. I think your comments were rude and very uninviting to me. I am taking it personal. I am not going to argue about my pup any longer as we feel that our breeder was the best choice and the most reasonable for us. I will stand behind ****[EDIT]***** and my Comet Cozzie.
