How can I stop my dog Nellie from digging great big holes in my yard and under the fence. I have concreted some areas that she has dug but it took forever and now my yard is ugly! I have tried sprinkling curry powder along the fence line but to no avail, She knows what she is doing is wrong because when I catch her in the act she slinks away with her tail between her legs but is back half an hour later digging the same hole! I am also worried as I don't want Chief getting under to next doors rottie! Short of chaining her up, I don't know what else to do. I'm at my witts end! I am ordering a new fence but not for a few months as I can't afford it right now. If anyone has any ideas that might help in the meantime, please let me know, Thanks! IP: Logged |

have you thought about putting big rocks in the holes that she digs and covering them over with dirt, it won't stop her from digging other holes but it'll stop her from digging that one. when we used to catch our rottweiler digging we'de spray him with the hose. that didn't work either. sorry i couldn't be more help. I,ve tried big rocks but between her and the rottie next door they always become dislodged. (she gets next door to play with the rottie but chief hates him). By the time I get to turn the hose on she has already run off and I haven't wet her because I was told that she won't know why I'm wetting her. I only have to look out the window now to catch her and she slinks away with shame. I won't spank her because I think that would hurt her feelings. LOL. Anyway thanks for the advice. Oh yeah, it's an interesting idea about the balloons Kyles, knowing my luck though she'll probably pop, eat and choke on it!
