How can I get my pup tested for bloodline? There's no doubt he's fullblooded but i want papers...what do I do? [This message has been edited by Trick (edited 12-01-2003).] IP: Logged |

i'm up the same creek. from what i've read you can only get a dna test if you know who the parents are. and i don't so i sort of let go of it. i don't want to breed her anyways. IP: Logged |

There is no way to tell a dog's bloodline or even breed unless you have the parents, grandparents, etc all the way back to dogs of a known breed, and compare the DNA from them, tracing your dog back to the registered dogs. Even then, you wouldn't get papers (from any decent registry) unless you also registered all those unregistered ancestors, then registered your dog. have you asked his breeder about all this?
