just recently my female pitbull just had puppy's. ive always said that i wanted to keep one from her first litter. the one i was going to keep was going to be a female, because i heard that they would get along better with the father dog. my only problem is the female had all boys, so im wanting to keep one of them. some people tell me that when the male dog gets bigger the father might kill him. but some say as long as i get him neuderd that he will be fine. can anyone tell me what i should do? i would appreciate it alot.

It's not a good idea to keep two males together because chances are they will fight later on, it's the same with two females. If I were you I would wait for a female pup but you definately have to get her spayed as the other day I visited the local shelter and there was a feamle staffy that had just given birth two days before and the father of the pups was the male from her first litter!! I asked if the pups were alright and they won't know for a few more weeks if they are "normal".
Apparently the owners didn't realise that the mother could get pregnant from her son and when she did, they handed the pregnant mother in to the shelter so now there is inbred pups to add to the list of irresponsibilty!!
