I took in a gator pit at the end of October. She is almost 3 yrs old & solid white with just a few black dots around her ears, stomach and outlining her eyes.Just recently we realized that she is pregnant and gaining weight quickly! Can someone please help me (the previous owners told us she has already had a litter)...... I am fairly new to these wonderful dogs AND the process of birthing puppies.

Firstly find yourself a good vet, preferably one thats on call 24/7 in case something goes wrong. Because you are inexperienced with breeding, I would learn as much as you can before she gives birth and possibly visit some breeders of pitbulls who can tell you what to expect. Knowing absolutely nothing is more dangerous to her than anything so please get informed as soon as possible. Have you thought about the financial side of having pups E.G risk of raising them from birth, worming, vaccinations, vet bills, and any other problems that may crop up.

I know I may sound a bit on the rude side but the interest of mum and pups must come first so are you prepared for everything?? If you got this dog when she was already pregnant than that's not your fault but I would strongly suggest that you get her spayed as soon as possible after the pups are born and sold. Most importantly PLEASE make sure they all go to responsible homes. I wish you good luck with everything and keep us posted!!
