yikes!! tell me what you think about this one. i don't know how much of this is garbage but it probably scared a bunch of people into wanting to ban our babies. http://www.city-journal.org/html/9_2_scared_of_pit.html on a lighter note: [This message has been edited by benny boy (edited 11-17-2003).] IP: Logged |

Oh my god!!! That was a horrible article! At least they thought to muzzle a dog instead of destroying it, but fancy being scared of a neighbourhood because of a few idiotic owners. I guess though it would look disturbing to most people walking down the street though. Some owners need to be shot!! IP: Logged |

That first article is old, published in the late 90s, though that doesn't make it any better . I personally LOVE this line: quote: Oooohhhh... I dunno which is MORE ominous... the fact that they were "training" the dogs on trees, or that they were *young* trees Speaking of which, how's this here for a fighting dog in training... There's tons of other crap in the article, but here's another choice tidbit... quote: Luckily for me that this is a complete lie... otherwise, I could be in a lot of trouble as I repeatedly trample and trip over two of these "quickly angered" beasts on my way to bed some nights. Yet another... quote: This one is beyond words, though I can't help but wonder where they "found" it.
quote: quote: Huh... that sounds a little contradictory to me. If the dogs "give no warning", then why would people cut their vocal cords?? Pehaps this person should choose which it is before deciding to share it as "the truth".
quote: Obviously, dogs are't the only thing this person discriminates against. The other is a great (and fun ) article, though sadly, most people who haven't had a chance to get to know the breed would never believe it. IP: Logged |

These hordes of man aggressive dogs just arent pits. The country-fried definition of a pit is a dog that will fight without quitting, lick its owner and wag its tail even in the midst of the fight,go home greet its family warmly despite its sore spots, and be a model house-dog,regardless of what it does at work. This dog will never have been encouraged to be aggressive towards poeple, but god help the man who breaks in,the pit will know what to do without having been taught.THATS a real pit, these dogs in the article are a seperate breed, plain and ssimple.
