My pit is 5 years old and has always been extremely healthy and we always get compliments on how good she looks but recently my husband and I had our first baby and she (the dog) has lost a lot of weight. However her appetite has not decreased, so I'm not sure if it could be due to jealousy or depression. She still acts healthy as usual so we were wondering what could be causing her weight loss. Any ideas?

Have u looked into worming? A lot of the times when a dog is the "only child" so to say and a new member joins the famly, they feel like they have been forgotten about. It would be great to socialize the two and spend time with both child and dog to let the dog see that you have not forgotten him/her, but they need to share the love. Maybe after introdcuing them properly and socializing them the dog will start to love the baby and they would be best of friends. I wish you luck, I knwo it is sometimes hard.

You should just get her checked out by a vet, that could be kidneys,or an intestinal blockage,or a decayed tooth, any # of things!!(or it could just be worms)
