I am in the process of choosing a new Pit Puppy. I need to know if there is a diffrence in the temperment of each Sex. I have heard that females are a bit more aggresive if they don't get Bred IP: Logged |

Females and males are both tempermental if they are not desexed or spayed. It is entirely up to you what sex you choose. IP: Logged |

quote: That's a lie (not accusing you of lying, but that statement is not true at ALL). Though some dogs will get a bit temperamental with other dogs (not usually people) when they go into season. We have 4 fixed female dogs, two fixed under a year (neither were ever bred), one fixed at around two years (also never bred), one fixed at around 2 1/2 yrs (don't know if this one was ever bred, as I found her at 2 1/2 y/o, but she doesn't look to have ever had a litter, so I'd guess not. None of them are aggressive. I've also known many other females who have never been bred, none of them aggressive either. While there are sometimes slight differences between male and female dogs' temperaments, it's usually better and mroe accurate to judge on an individual basis by each pup's temperament, as well as the parents (if they're known). Depends on what you plan on doing with a pit. Do you plan on breeding? You may want a female. Do you just want to have a male and use him for stud service. It all depends on ur ultimate goal. Do you want only 1 pit? IP: Logged |
