I got this from another site I belong to. This boy is located in Ashville North Carolina. Does anyone have any advice on how to help this boy?

I don't know if any of you remember me talking about the little pit bull puppy that we encountered on one of our walks or not, but I have a plight now regarding him. The first time we saw him, he was probably about 2-3 months old and was with some kids on the road. He came running over to play with Gypsy, and none of the kids would claim him to come get him so we could continue our walk. They were actually arguing over the fact that he didn't belong to them. He finally did follow them, and I felt so sorry for him when we got home. I wished I had taken him because I could only imagine how his life would end up.

Well, today, we encountered him again - still not neutered and still no collar and no one to actually claim him. He followed us home and I just let him do it. He's probably about 6 months old now, but I'm not for sure.

Now, he is in the basement right now, in Gypsy's crate, but there is no way in heck that I'm going to be able to keep him. He isn't trained to anything. When I slipped the leash around his neck to lead him into the basement, you would have thought I was killing him the way he fought. He's probably never worn a collar in his life, let alone had a leash attached to him. My mother is going to go ballistic when she gets home in a few minutes, and I've promised my dad that I would find him another home this week. I have nowhere to keep him other than the crate, since I have invisible fence installed. I can't really train him to that because of the way he acts on leash.

A friend of mine posted this here. Here are some pics of this poor pit. If anyone has any ideas on how to help him out please respond. If this baby ends up in a shelter there it will be put down.
Here are the pics.

doesn't seem to be full pit, I can kinda make out a lab-ish look to him.

There's hope for him yet, good luck!

He definately has some Lab in him. His ears are too long & floppy to be Pit. He's a gorgeous dog though. If I didn't have 6 dogs (3 of which are Pits), I would take him. There are rescue groups in Tennessee that will take him. Look up Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue on the internet. The lady's name is Donna. I'm sure she can put him on a list, or find a way to help you out.Just tell her how you found him & why you can't keep him. I wish I could take him! Good luck to you & him both.

Hey. I just thought about this. List this guy on APBR (American Pit Bull Rescue) & PBRC (Pit Bull Rescue Central). It is free to list them & they have TONS of dogs adopted from those sites. Just type in APBR & look over the site. Same with PBRC. Both will give you an option to list your dog. You can ask for an adoption fee, or let him go for free. Just please make sure to screen anyone interested in him. Make sure it isn't someone that wants to fight him, or bait him.
