Well I came to this site about a week ago thinking it would be great for me to join. I am a 23 year old pit raiser. The reason I dont think I want to stay is because I have been raising pits since I was young. What a lot of people on this board are not realizing is that people are different and they raise their dogs different. Im not saying the coments I posted are right and I am not saying that what I posted is how you should do it. When I post to a question that someone asks I am giving that person an idea to use or not use depending on how they raise their dog. All I am doing is letting people know what has worked for me and my dogs. I never said it would work for someone else and their dog. Someone asks a question and I always put that it worked for me and my dogs I have never said that it will work for theirs. Nor did I ever say that I was right. So to those that dont like what I have posted then ignor my post I just tried to help. Hopefully some of you will realize that some things will work for you and some may not but the way I see it is the more people that post the more ideas you get and maybe one of them will work for you. Anyway I hope i did not offend any one if I did I appologize. I hope if I decide to continue to post to peoples questions they will realize that it is an idea and may or may not work for them. Have a nice day everyone.

Hi Angie I only have pictures of my Kane in a photo album. He was a beautiful black brindle about 75 lbs. The rest of them I had when I was younger and never took pics of them but I plan on getting one soon I have to put a fence up before I can get another and I am thinking I may get a Am Staff considering that pitts are illegal in St. Mary Parish. By the way I grew up in St. Charles Parish went to Destrehan High. My email is hardheadaries21@yahoo.com Keep in touch I might actually know you lol.

You better get a copy of the actual legislation before you get any bull breed. Often when BSL is passed, it lumps AmStaffs, APBTs, Staffies, and sometimes ABs and/or Bull Terriers under the term "pit bull" or "pit bull type", which makes them illegal as well. Here's a fairly typical definition of a "pit bull", taken from a law that was proposed in LA a few years ago (though this is one of the rare few that doesn't have APBT listed, usually they're #1 on the list)...

quote:
defines pit bull dog as "those breeds of dogs which are commonly referred to as Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Bulldogs, or any dog which has at least one-quarter of those breeds in its lineage.

Goob I appreciate the message but I have several friends on the dog fighting task force not to mention family in the police department. I already know what I can and can not have. Thanks any way though.

** I'm not quite sure I understand your statement...you join and then decide not to stay because you have been raising pit bulls since you were young? If you are able to share insight, post educational info that may help people then please stay, share, learn etc..

**Actually most of us do realize that everyone is different and we all have methods of doing things that work for us. This is great, its always helpful to gain another perspective. As always people should do their own research, consult a vet (or pesron related to their problem) ask opinions, and make their own informed decisions. Many of us try to help, and offer advice, but it should never be taken without following the above mentioned, or taken as the "only" way. Thanks for brining it up, its always good for everyone and newbies to be reminded of this.

Cheers,

Ya know I am really bad at typing what I am thinking. I put a period where there should have been a semicolon first of all in that first paragraph, then I didnt word it right as usual. Anyway thanks for commenting all of you. May be I just dont like being told I'm wrong is all. Doubt I am going any where dear I will probably stick around but keep my mouth shut a little more and when I do post I am going to be using that edit button a lot.
