lol...I read this in another pitbull forum...how irresponsible can people get? Pitbull custody battle. Okay...seriously shouldn't these people that own the stud have notified the owner of the female prior to them mating. I'm sure if the female owner knew they wanted so many, he/she wouldn't have bred with that stud. Half of the litter sounds like way too much to me. The stud owners sound like a bunch of jerks to me. getting the pick of the litter is plenty. that's the way it has been. wanting half of the litter is being a jerk about it.ur friend don't need to breed with his stud any more. nanny IP: Logged |

This is why it is best to write out a clear and precise contract before the breeding takes place AND to make sure you know you are dealing with reputable stud/bitch owners to prevent any unforseen circumstances. My advice is never just trust someones "word" especially someone they don't know well - verbal agreements can become messy. I just hope they have good homes for all of these innocent dogs created. They need to consider that raising a litter properly is a lot of work and doesn't end when all the pups are sold - it is a lifelong commitment. IP: Logged |

I got to second that Jas.. not a very reputatble breeder to just go by word especially with somoene they met off the streets.. Not too kosher! Anyhow, I do think in situations like this they will say pick of the litter or price of one pup fo rthe sire's owner. That is usually a breeding agreement unless otherwise stated in contract, but with no contract who knows. They will maybe take all the pups and put them down due to breed.. what state is this taking place in anyhow.. anyone know? Sad because most of those puppies are going to end up in bad situations by their so obvious back yard breeder that decided to bring them into a world with no breeding experience. People like that shouldn't own dogs as wonderful as Pitbull's. No one cared about genetics or legal issues? I mean come on.. Pathetic.. But what can we do besides hope for the best that ACO of that area takes them and places them in rescue/foster where they can be placed in wonderful homes. Angie ------------------ IP: Logged |
