Deuce is my one year old, 80 lb., male Amstaff. We have taken him to obedience training, and overall he is a great and very intelligent dog. We taught him to sleep in his own bed, not to get on our furniture, and many other things obedience wise. The only problem I have is that sometimes when I leave the house, I return to a pile of poop. And he knows that he is wrong bc once I see it he puts his head down, knowing he did something wrong. But how can I correct him so that he will stop. We have always used positive/negative reinforcements when training him...but I just can't seem to find a way to keep him from doing this. He knows it's wrong, and it happens rarely, but how can I stop it from happening? Thanks... Kati IP: Logged |

For one.. try walking him or taking him out before you leave.. so he knows that if he needs to go.. to go then.. If that doesn't work, a definate is crating him so he will learn to hold it (He won't go in his crate.. or at least I hope not) Another thing I am thinking is slight separation anxiety. My four month old APBT has S.A. and she has came out of the chewing and destructive thing, but if I leave her alone to even run out and get the mail which is less than five minutes.. she takes a big dump. But like I said try talkign him out before leaving or crating him.. it will give him more options. Angie IP: Logged |
