My Amstaff has extremely brittel nails. She has broken 4 in the past month! Any ideas as to what would be causing this and a cure?

Could be that they're just getting too long and breaking off from normal bully-style tearing around the house/yard. They should be short enough that they don't click when walking across linoleum/tile, or if you don't have that type of flooring to guage by, they shouldn't touch the ground when the dog is standing normally.
