I love pitbulls! People that do not own pitbulls have no idea how loveable they can be. I have 4 and none of them have ever harmed anyone. I just recently got a King Pit, he is only 6 weeks. I want to start a pitbull farm for rescued pitbulls. If anyone can give me any help on how i can start one please contact me.

If you're planning on having more than one dog at a time at your home (which most rescues do), then you need to be prepared to keep every dog you bring into your home seperate from the others when you are not at home, and possibly even where you are, as pit bulls are often dog aggressive, and should NOT be left alone with other dogs. If two of them were to get into a scrap while you were gone, there would be no one there to stop them, and most likely at least one would be seriously injured by the time you got home. Many cannot even be around other dogs when supervised, especially same-sex combinations. This means that you will need a means of confining EACH dog in your house in a way that they cannot get to the others, and the others cannot get to them. You may also end up having to rotate dogs even when you are home, so that they each get their amount of "free time" while dogs they do not get along with are away. Same goes for playtime, training, etc.

Then there are the considerations involved with rescue in itself... vet care is expensive, you're lucky to recoup what you put into a dog after an adoption (and that's assuming that all they needed was vaccs, and altered, if they have heartworm, or HD, or injuries, that will be more $$$). You also have to consider the liability issues that go along with it. If you take in a dog that has shown any type of aggression towards someone, adopt it out, and it injures someone, they can come back and sue YOU for adopting out that dog. Same thing occasionally happens with dog on dog agrgession, so you have to be EXTREMELY careful about which dogs you accept for placement and which you turn down. If you're really serious about rescueing needy pit bulls, your best bet is to find a reputable, established rescue group near you, and work with them for a while, fostering, evaluating dogs, etc.
