I was wonder what the thoughts are on pulling APBT's? I have a 14 month old and every time I take him to the vet, someone asks if I pull him. I haven't nor will I, but it seems to be a growing sport. The dogs are so powerful, it amazes me everytime I walk him. I have done some reading on the subject and the weight they pull is crazy. Just wondering what people think. I am new to the board, but have come in and read for a while. There are some very intelligent people that post to the board.

Weight pulling is a wonderful sportfor APBT's.5 of my dogs are in pulls. They love it.It keeps them in shape and helps them burn off all of that entergy.I enjoy it also. Its notust about the dogs pulling, its also about how you and you dog work as a team.Plus,it's nice to get together with other APBT owners.

General weight pull info, as well as a schedule of pulls: http://www.iwpa.net

Great info on getting a dog started in pulling, and conditioning them up to a competition level: http://www.americanpitbullterrier.org/weight_pulling.htm

. Thank you "Goob" Great web site on weight pulling.
Last fall my trainer told me that she thought my dog Cairo would make a great candidate for weight pulling.
I have recently been thinking of starting training with him.
It seems like an awful lot of hard work and dedication.
I hope I am up for the task.
Again, Thanks for the informative site
