Why is it that if a pitbull attacks a man woman or child in Cali. people in Va. all the way across USA will hear about it with in a few days but if that same dog saves a man woman or child from being raped or killed 5 miles away from your house chances are you will never hear about it?????

Why is it that when people see a pitbull running free in your home town they instantly assume it that it has already killed 6 or 7 small kids?????

Why is it that we sit down at night with our children and watch a tv show about some one being raped or killed and we are normal for that but if we let or children have a pitbull puppy we are careless of unfit parents?????

Why is it that a man can take a pit puppy and raise it to fight and kill other dogs by beating it and the law never says sh*t to him but when he lets his guard down and the dog bites his a$$ it is the dog that gets punished and the man gets to run around a ruin the reputation of a wonderfull breed?????

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

Why is it that this idiot that calls himself jlong has to be a prick and help that man that got his a$$ bit for beating the dog?????

Yes I am sure that the news does cover it in alot of cases but do they not thrive on it the way that they do when one does wrong.

I do not expect you or anyone else to be able to answer all my questions although I do really appreciate your attempt. I posted this message to get people such as jlong and others like him to maybe try looking at the positive sides of a pitbull as there are many more of them then the negatives.

just FYI, Doc sees things a bit different in this Pitbull forum than the majority of us so called experienced PB owners, I won't criticize anything she says about show dogs or her dogs, but as for pits, I do not agree with her much at all, except for the fact that she acknowledges them as dogs.

She just likes to come in here to flex her vast library of canine knowledge every once in awhile.

I wouldn't waste any of your time trying to explain anything to her about PB she has a very selective one way tunnel for ears on this topic and is absolutely always correct with whatever she says. She has over 30 years experience showing dogs in the ring, you know..... brushing, combing, running in a little circle. She has also published 2 books. I wonder what they were???

I am quite busy as of late and have been leaving very short blunt posts, for this I apologize, for I do love this breed very much. I won't waste much time on the ignoramuses anymore, but I do like to play a bit and get them all riled up.

I just got another taxicab and I am having a hard time driving them both at the same time. But I will try to answer any legitimate PB questions, along with the rest of us who truely love the breed.

To be blunt, the human race tends to like the bad things that happen. People also tend to exagerate, which is why the reputation of the APBT has been ruined. People will talk forever about the bad things in this world..never hear them talk much about something good happening...this is just the way humans are.

Media has had a HUGE influence on the way people preceeve the APBT...unfortunate but true.....quick note: last night as they were discussing the war in Iraq...reporters even comented that everything subjected to the public is put forth as "entertainment"

Our world is a truly horrible place. Just last year at Christmas time a woman was walkng to work at 5 am, a man grabbed her and dragged her into the bushes where he raped and beat her to death...she screamed so long and so hard people heard her for acres...did anybody call the police to investigate? NO, instead they layed in their warm beds while this 20 year old lady was being raped and beaten to death...she screamed for a good 10 minutes......nobody cared...didn't even get up to look out the wondow.....Not one person called the police and atleast 10 people heard her screaming..blood curdling scream....wonder why we as a society can watch a rape take place....we see and hear things everyday that we block out...just the way our world works now.

This is a Great question. I ask myself this all the time. The answer I believe is that people like Doc and jlong are the ones educating the government on dogs and why they attack, instead of knowledgeable APBT handlers and owners....this is where the law needs to be changed to favor the innocent animals...this is where we need to join forces and help educate the government on why these attacks take place so they can protect animals from being placed in situations like that.

Ignorance, plain and simple. This person can not comprehend why dogs become aggressive in the first place and will not listen to the facts.

P.S. Pugs are great. I read somewhere they are a decendent of the Pit Bull!!!
