Hey listen guys.
I am sorry if I have started trouble on this board. What the poem means is parents should be as understanding as those children in it although I do agree that children should be told that all dogs are not frindly and playfull such as the one in the poem but its not just pits that are causing trouble out there. There are many dogs of all diff. size, shape and breed that are not good with people. Thats all I meant by the posting the poem. I did NOT write it I found it on a website, I just thought it would be nice if people would understand that just because its a pitbull does not mean its a killer. Some of Americas greatest dogs are pits and I am once again sorry if I have offended anyone

It is always welcome here, if its about positive pitbulls

This is a very sad poem, I grew up with a brindle pit named ziggy. We had him since he was a tiny pup. I think all children should be taught to be aware of every dog until they are introduced to them and they know its safe. Not just pitbulls, any dog. I won't let any children touch my poodle because she is way too tempermental. I have learned from having my dogs that even though I want to pay attention to every dog I see, it is not always possible. My neighbor has a huge pitbull, and we stop by and chat. His dog is so big compared to mine he does not realize how strong he is. He barely stepped on my dogs toe and mine squealed in pain. He just does not know how strong he is. Plus he has probably not ever had the chance to run around with other dogs. His owners are scared of all the hype about them, so he stays very close to them. My dog has been attached a couple of times from other dogs so I am very weary about any dog at this point. But I still try to show my dogs not all dogs will hurt them. As you see I too am not from this forum. Someone from toy dogs made referance to something over here so I was looking for it and stumbled over this... Everyone just love your dogs and be nice to others.
