Hi! we have a girl guinea pig thats been living since November 2003 with a male. i think she is pregnant. im not sure though, what are the signs of pregnancy? How would i know when they did it? Shes fatter than before and when she leans forward on the cage wall to greet us, i can see 2 nipples at the bottom and her stomach looks bigger when she does this.. she lives with a male though. should i get him out of there? Thanks guys! Hope to hear from you soon!!

Hi if her abdomen is larger that usual and her nipples are more prominant then i think she is deffiantly pregnant.

If You are able to hold her, You can gently feel her abdomen and you will fell the baby/babies.
There is no need to remove the male as the babies are born with all there hair eyes open and teeth as they try to eat solid foods from 3days old.

When i had my guinea pigs my male stayed in with the female and the babies.
Provide her somewhere she can hide to give birth and give her plenty of hay or straw to use as a nest.

Guinea pigs give birth during the night when its all quiet and there is no movement or noises.

hope this helps
Mike.
