This makes me mad, sad, and just plain angry that people can do this to their animals. I got an email with this website. its horrific, check out at your own risk. www.all-creatures.org IP: Logged |

I just want to warn everyone about the above mentioned website. Its run by Vegans. Now I know that everyone who participates in this board are animal-loving human beings, with a multitude of animals in their lives, from fish to dogs, and cats to livestock. We love them all. Inhumane torture is WRONG. No question there. But there are some of us who eat beef, chicken, turkey, etc, on a daily basis. There are some of us who eat fish. This website, while showing pictures of tortured cats and dogs, also shows pictures of the dairy and poultry industry. And tells us that we are EVIL creatures to subject these animals to such conditions. In conclusion, go to this website if you want to feel like a serial killer on a blood lust. Personally, I was sick. Sickened by the total lack of respect for all of God's creatures, including us human beings. Before I get off my soap box, I will mention the one thing that seperates us from the rest of the mammals that we share this planet with, free will. I also wanted to add that I think it was in poor taste that the website was posted here. Children participate in the message board. Children with BUNNIES, who may not like to see what its INSIDES look like. [This message has been edited by Stormwatcher (edited 12-22-2003).] IP: Logged |

I don't feel that you should "WARN" boardmembers about a page created by Vegans simply because you find their views radical. Sometimes, bad things happen to animals intended for human consumption. By purchasing your meat at the local cheap grocery store, you are supporting those images. Perhaps consider purchasing your meat from a non-cruelty distributor. IP: Logged |

Ok...didn't mean to make a HUGE dispute here. I was emailed the info, thought it necessary to pass on to others. I eat meat, beef, ck, fish. all kinds. No I don't agree with inhumane methods of butchering or torture before they are processed. I just completely disagree with the whole, torture issue, thats why I posted it. IP: Logged |

I eat meat. I love animals. I went veggie for about 4 months and then slipped back. Anyway, the story of store bought meat is horrible. Really, the hunters are not so bad as animal rights people make them out to be (No I don't hunt), at least the animal lived free before it was shot. I checked out the site really quickly. It's depressing. I really need to consider becoming a hunter and getting my meat in that fashion if I must have meat. I like the woods anyway. It might not be so bad. Unfortunately, killing other creatures to survive is nature--reality. Being a hunter (no trapping or trophy garbage), when you consider the ways of nature, and the plight of the animals that die to give meat to the masses, isn't so bad. After looking at some of those pics, I may just do that. I mean, I eat meat anyway. Hunting my meat is more humane and is and natural, and could even be a spiritual thing. I applaud Richard's way of thinking. I believe he is taking a humane approach to the way he is eating, without changing his preference. Sams - I don't believe there has been a HUGE problem/dispute here, just a few healthy opinions stated, except for perhaps one. Either way we are all entitled to our own, and thanks for the informative website link

For those who are interested: This link contiains a few medical pictures about the problems that sometimes occur during declawing, as well as facts, alternatives, and information on the subject of declawing from a Vet's point of view. http://www.declawing.com/ IP: Logged |

My only complaint was that I CHILDREN participate in this message board. Sure, we can be preachy as we want about animal rights, but what about the rights of innocent? I'm terribly sorry if my views offended anyone, and I can see that I really don't need to participate in a message board that has members that get off on telling other people how to feel. Well first off, children should not be on the internet unsupervised, and that was not your original only complaint or misconception about that website. The website is very respectful of "All God's Creatures", as you have said it was not, infact the website is even based on Christian ethics, which you also brought up in your complaint against the website. I believe that unless you have a valid reason to speak poorly of a website, you should not do so. [This message has been edited by AmyGerbilGirl (edited 01-12-2004).] IP: Logged |

Who's telling who how to think here???
I am however, fully against hunting for the cruelty of it, and for nothing but pleasure. I eat and use most all parts of them. Definately don't waste. Its the poachers, and people who torture that makes me mad. IP: Logged |

Never once did anyone tell you what to think here, Stormwatcher. I think it was completely appropriate to post an informational link in reference to animals on an animal discussion board. There are right ways to voice your opinion, and wrong ways, and there certainly is no pride in voicing your opinion that someone elses opinion is inappropriate, when you do it in an inappropriate way yourself. Sams - My boyfriend is the same way. He respects the animals he kills/consumes, and doesn't waste them. It is most appreciated when those who eat meat do it with respect. IP: Logged |
