Not too much of a problem, more of a question and topic starter. I have two hampsters, a white brown eyed short hair and a white red eyed siberian.

Now, I've had the siberian for over a year and she's been the perfect little pet. Hence the reason her name is Angel. About 3 months ago, I adopted the other hampster from work, because she was a 'biter' and we sold her to 3 different customers and she was returned all 3 times. Over the past 3 months, she has never bit me and I do handle her a lot.

Here comes the craizness. They're in cages right next to each other, and they can look at each other all day. Beatrice (the S.H.) constanly moves her bedding around, throws food all over the place and tares everything I give her to shreds. I had to buy her a dog toy to give her chewing satisfaction. Well, after 3 months of watching Bea, Angel has started destroying all her toys, toys she's had for a YEAR, mind you! I just don't know what to do with those two anymore. Anyone else have funny stories?

I have had my gerbil for almost a year. Everything plastic and not plastic I have ever put in her cage has gotten eaten! I once had her in a plastic cage and she chewed one of the domes out! It took us 2 hours to catch her!! When I bought a bigger cage(wire) it came with a plastic house and plastic food dish and plastic wheel. I put the house in there and was convinced for a while she actually wasnt interested in eating it. Lets just say all that is left of that house is its floor. and the wheel? She chewed it off the cage wall. I really am surprised that the food dish is in fairly good condition.

My hampster thinks he's a squirrel. He takes all of his bedding and throws it on top of the food bowl. Then he forgets where he put it so he eats the bowl it's in. The other day he got out and we found him UNDER THE STOVE WHILE IT WAS ON AT 421 DEGREES FARENHEIT! But he still lives!

My hamster pushed her cage door open herself and got out! We could actually hear her in the wall. I live in a condo, so we didn't think we would ever see her again. Three days later she came walking through the living room. She was skinnier, but oterwise seemed ok. That was 6 months ago, and she is doing fine. Of course we had to put a lock on the cage door!
