![]() ![]() I was wondering what makes a better pet, budgies or cockatiels? I also need to know about the dust made by cocktiels. Does it cause allergies? And which is louder, a budgie or a cockatiel? Thanks Bird enthusiast IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Cockatiels are known to be the ultimate best first-time bird owners. They are gentle, easy to tame, and they are not loud except for the occassional whistling (if you get a male) and maybe a TINY bit of squawking when it is first getting used to its new home. I would start out with a cockatiel, but one of their poor qualities is that they have a special kind of dust over their feathers that could cause allergies. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I completely agree with stefani. I have had a cockatiel for many yrars and it is great. The "powder" like substance that comes off the is a problem as far as cleanliness around the cage. I got a piece of material with elastic and put it around 4 inches up from where the bars gegin and that has cut down on the "dust" significantly. Good luck!! IP: Logged |
