I just ogt a female dove for christmas, i only wanted one, but my grandma ownde them and she said it already had a mate and an egg so that i had to keep them together at least until the egg hatched. Then one morning i went to check on them and it looked like they had pecked a hole in it, then just a couple days later it laid another egg but they're taking care of it! Will it end up like the other? Can i Seperate the mates afterwards? PLEASE HELP ME!

Hi,because the birds have been moved while they are laying this is why they have pecked the egg.
Seperating the pair can go either way they could get along fine without each other or could create alot of noise for there mate.

If they have been paired up together for a long time then its going to be hard to seperate them.

If you do not want the eggs to hatch simply boil each egg as its laid and right a number on it allow to cool and let her sit on them as just removing the eggs she will just lay more to replace the ones you have removed if you would like more help or advice please email me.
