I just got a new parakeet today. I really like him, but he just sits there! I mean its only been a little bit of time, but he doesn't move around unless I come near him. Is it because he's new and is unsure and scared? Is this a common thing when people first get parakeets? Do you think he'll start moving once he's more used to it? He moved around a lot at the store, but here he doesn't. Please give me your input!

Also if you have any good names for a green and yellow Parakeet, please tell me!
Thanks!

Its really okay if he dosn't move around as much as you want him too I mean ok when he was in his cage before you got him he was used to his surondings but now his all by him self so he is in a little shock and he is just getting used to everything. Dont worry after a month or so when his is used to everything he will get around. Keep us posted with your bird!

Sorry i took a while to reply- I have been buisy. Thanks everyone for the replies and advice! My bird has warmed up to the place and is more active. I'll post more about him at the top...
By coincedence I named my bird Kiwi! One of you suggested that, but I didn't see it, and I named my bird Kiwi anyway!
Thanks again for all the replies
