Hello, Im new here and I sure hope someone could help me. Last night I notice something about my female tiel, that something was missing on her face and it was her cute orange cheeks! the hair is gone! and her ears are exposed. I pulled her out imediately just to make sure that the other tiels were not doing this but I checked her body and she seemed to be fine and just happy! I gave them all a shower which they love, But she is the only one with this problem. Now, Just before covering their cage tonight, I notice she was the only one constantly scratching herself. Could this be mites? and if so, Are they that small? Has this happen to any of you? I would appreciate any advise you could give me, Maybe there is some spray that I can get to help her.

Thank you!

Sounds like mites and yes, they are tiny. You should take her to the vet to determine.
