Hi everyone,
I love this web sight so many of you have answered my questions. I was just wondering how do you go about registering a horse. I have a 9 month old Halflinger/Quaterhorse. The father is a registered halflinger and the mother is a registered quaterhorse. Someone told me that makes Remington(my horse)a purebred and that you can register him. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Ok, he's not "purebred", he's a cross. I don't know of any registries you can apply for seeing as how he's not purebred. The breeders should have supplied you with registration papers, and applications. I'm sorry but I don't think you can register him. I could be wrong but I'll keep researching for you.

Thanks for your time. And the previous owner said he did not have the time to get him registered. Can you still show him in the team penning and roping without him being registered? I like ribbons

OH yes!!! Any horse can do competitions. You just won't be able to take him to the official AQHA shows, and stuff like that.,,,
I have unregistered horses and I compete with them all the time.

I've known a quite a few cross breds, to be better than most pure at times...
