Hey fellow TExan!! I teach as well as compete in barells! THere is a great book out by CHarmaigne James....The art of Barrel racing.

If you'd like to come out or would like some tips with your horse feel free to email me. I do give riding lessons as well as training for riders and thier horses.

Let me know. Mare-majic@excite.com

Hey! I used to barrel race alot, I still do too.. I started training when I was 11 and was great at it by the time i was 14. I was winning almost every one.
Barrel racing is simple, the first thing u need is a good dependable horse! I used an Alpaloosa and a Quarter Horse. Email me if u would like to talk about barrel racing!!If u have CMT watching Cowboy U wouldnt be a bad idea, because they are all learning too, so it might help u out a little, and If you have RFDTV its basically a channel devoted to that kind of stuff, as well as the FFA.. I loved that club!! o well enough rambling
email me if u like

Hi, I think you should try to get into a club and/or get a trainer. I dont compete professionaly but I have learned a thing or two with some of my friends horses. I just kind of stumbled into it, i met a guy who barrel races his qh and I absolutetly fell in love with it. I used to help work out my friends 2 mares to keep them on their toes but we arent working them on the barrels anymore since they are prganant and due soon.

Good luck!

Apps are great. Sassy is an app, what she lacks in size, she makes up in heart and speed!
