Hi, I own a 16.2hh Hanoverian gelding that I compete with at dressage and showjumping. Recently I have decided to get a companion for him, something like an older horse or pony that maybe I can occassionally show but it won't jump or do dressage. Is there any breed of horse or pony that sounds particularly suited to this criteria? thanks IP: Logged |

I have found, in situations i've seen, that the company of a goat is typically enjoyed by horses. I don't have much knowledge on the idea, but you may want to consider obtaining further information on this option IP: Logged |

We have used a goat as a companion before and it worked out great. You said you wanted a pony or horse that you could show, but not jump or do dressage with...what type of classes would you want to enter? That would help in deciding what type horse you want. IP: Logged |

Check out LSER.ORG there are many registered horses up for companionship that would make lovely halter show horses!!! IP: Logged |
