i had a paint mare whose tail would be green by spring time...i used hydrogen peroxide ..first wash tail, then rinse, poor whole bottle in to tail rub in..let stand for abt 20-30 min. then rinse and wash again with quick silver whitening shampoo..i used quick silver and it did do fairly well alone but still didnt get the green out of her tail..so i asked and someone said to use bleach diluted with dawn dish soap but make sure you dont get it on the skin..well that does work but i dont use anything on thier skin that i wouldnt use on mine...soo i use peroxide and then the whitening shampoo and it usually works..sometimes takes a few washings. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Hydrogen Peroxide can acutally damage the hair fibers and cause the hair to break and fall out!! I've used Liquid Bluing, just rember to read the directions and delute the stuff before applying. Or else you'll have a blue tail!!! It won't dye it or anything, but will tint it blue for a few days. Also a regular (weekly) shampoo with Dawn dishwashing soap will help. This will help to kill fungus and ewwies from growing and fights stains! IP: Logged |
