I have 6 piranah = not sure of the species Silver body,red fins,red tinge under the head,and a black spot behind the gills . Any ideas ? IP: Logged |

Sorry to have to correct you pacuguy, but... kiwi- You have Pygocentrus Cariba. Similar to the Pygocentrus Nattereri, but distinguished by the black humeral spot behind the gills. IP: Logged |

Thanks guys - i appreciate your help By the way ~ i have wrapped one half of the tank completly in black paper to give them somewhere to hide ~ the piranah spend a lot of time in the dark end during the day and they swim together as a team now and dont nip eachother- Their appitite has increased from 3 comet feederfish per day to 6 comets per day for 6 piranah. i make sure there is 6 feederfish in the tank at all times. My tank is 55 gal i know that will be too small soon - they are 5 in long now ~ whats a good size tank for them as adults ? IP: Logged |
