You can get an inexpensive timer that will turn your lights on and off in any sequence you desire at just about any hardware store or wal mart. They are super easy to use. You plug the timer into your wall, plug your light into the timer, turn your light to the on position, and set the timer to switch on/off and cycle your light. It's actually a good idea to put several of these timers on lights around the house set to different intervals to give the place a "lived-in" look while you are away. IP: Logged |

Last summer I left the house for two weeks. One of my tanks had no timer and as a result the fishes all looked pale when I returned. The tank was on the darker side of the house, and the fishes were fine, but it seems that light is an important part of your fishes colors. The choice is yours! IP: Logged |

plants will die without light, so you should get a timer. IP: Logged |
