hey i saw a flower horn at my lfs they hardly ever have rare fish in and it was 17 bucks for a 3 inch fish!! i was wondering would it do ok in a 46 or 55 gallon by its self?? or would i need bigger? and how fast do they groW? thanks oh i know they are Mean SOB's IP: Logged |

Flowerhorns can get 12" so I'd say a 55 would be the bare minimum for one. I'm not 100% sure about their growth rate, but I'm willing to bet they're similar to oscars and grow about 1"/month up until about 6" then they slow down. -Chelle IP: Logged |

It's taller (48 x 12 x 24). It would provide more water which would lessen the bioload, but the area available for territory would be basically the same as a 55. -Chelle IP: Logged |

well i plan on only have the 1 fish in the tank cus i hear the Fh will kill everything els? they are a mix between the midas and timac? IP: Logged |
