i would sugest only adding AQUARIUM salt if they fish have ich or other parasites. and i would only add about 1 tbs to 10 gallons.. IP: Logged |

adding salt is actually very good for an established tank. use about 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons. IP: Logged |

1 tablespoon of AQUARIUM SALT only per 10 gal is good for freshwater fish. It helps them maintain their slime coat and fights Ick and other diseases. Don't use table salt as it can contain iodine, which is bad for your fish. Just remember that evaporation increases the NaCl concentration and water used as a replacement for evaporation should be salt free to keep the concentration the same, but when you do a water change you remove the salt and need to replace it.
