We have a 150 gallon tank. Inthe tank we have, 12 tetras, 3 angelfish, 2 picosimus, 8 balloon mollies, 2 dalmation mollies, 6 painted fish, and 2 female bettas. We think a few of the balloon molies are pregnant. Is there anyway to tell and what do we need to do to prepare for the birth? Are they going to lay eggs or give birth to babies? We also want to mate our female bettas with a male we have in another tank. Can anyone tell me if there is anything special we need to do? Are these fish going to eat the babies?

Mollies give birth to live baby fishies. The babies will probably be eaten by the parents and the other fish though You could get a breeding trap and just remove the mother once her job is done.

Breeding Betta's can be hard, because the male might kill the female. I've heard that a good way to breed them is to get a small betta tank with a divider and no current. put them on separate sides and wait until the male is done building his bubble nest. remove the divider and he'll carry the eggs to the bubble nest as she lays them. Once she's done, you'll want to remove her so there isn't any domestic abuse I hope i have that info correct.
