Guppies are a delicate fish and with the small size of feeders yours are they will probably be even more delicate. Guppies breed a lot! However, I doubt a feeder would be old enough to. I have 4 females now and my males are only interested in one that is about a month older than the others. You will know for sure that she is pregnant when you can see the actual eyes of the baby fish inside the female. She will also begin to look for places to hide. Guppies like a tank with live plants and plenty of open swimming room. They will also nibble on any algae that grows. In my experiences with them, guppies seem to prefer a hard water with a little aquarium salt added. However, I can't stress enough how delicate they really are. People have bred them for long fins and fancy tails for so long that their immune systems and general health really isn't that great any more. I wish you luck with your guppy keeping, its taken me almost six years off and on to be able to keep any alive. IP: Logged |
