I just had a 25 gal come into my possession, so I am in the process of setting it up, I have a pink convict coming, (thank you cichlid small jaws) and I want to get 1-2 firemouths.
I already have a 33 running, with 9 tetras, 3 espei rasboras, 1 hong kong pleco, 1 albino cory, 1 angel, 1 glass cat, 1 weather loach, and 2 new german rams.
the 25 is just a tall 20, so I was going to move the tetras, rasboras, glass cat, rams, over to the 25, leave the weather loach in the 33, and set the 33 for the con and firemouths. I'm wondering if it would be ok to have the weather loach in with the cichlids, he's about 3-1/2 4 inches, and quite rotund, :P, he's my remaining top favorite fish, so I dont want him to be picked on by the semi aggressive cichlids, but I would prefer to keep him in the 33 for the larger space, or should I just keep the 33 as a community, and set the 25 for the con and 1 or 2 firemouths?
any input would be good, thank you

I paid 10$ canadian for him at petcetera, so far the most expensive for them I've seen, between 3 cities for pet stores, but well worth it, 2$ at wally world, but almost all died, or were really sicky, as with other pet stores, about 5$ and sickish.

As for when i got him, he was about 3 inches or so, and he was slimmer than he is now, he's alittle chubby:P

for any info you may want, from what I've come across, they'll grow to about 10-12 inches, scavenge along the bottom for uneaten flakes, exept pink ones, none of ym guys really like the pink flakes, exept for the albino glowlight tetras:P, and they love bloodworms, I feed my guys frozen bloodworms every day or 2, mainly for my glass cat
sexing I didnt get, but I dont care, I only have the 1, and no plans to try and breed them.

I would not advice putting your weather loach in with your cichlids the temperture isnot right for w.l and the cichlid would probably pick on him.

well, temp wise he's fine, he likes it in my 79*f community tank, I'm just wondering if the cichlids would really pick on him

I would only get one firemouth. That plus the con and maybe a bottom feeder will pretty much max out the 25 gallon.

I also agree that the cichlids would probably pick on the loach. You could try to find one of the smaller species of plecos.
