pacus are semi aggresive and i belive they need softer water. they get at least 12" long, so get a large enuff tank. also, they need the temperture to be about 76-80 degrees. IP: Logged |

Unless you have a spare 500 - 1000 gallon aquarium laying around, don't get a pacu. Note the adult red devils (approx 10") -Chelle IP: Logged |

If you like the basic looks of the pacu, but don't have a large enough tank, you could look into silver dollars. They get about 8" prefer to be in group so they will still need a somewhat large tank (55+), but not nearly as large as 500 gallons. http://fishprofiles.com/profiles/fw/profile.asp?id=Metynnis+hypsauchen http://species.fishindex.com/species_2940metynnis_argenteus_silver_dollar.html -Chelle [This message has been edited by t_chelle16 (edited 03-06-2004).] IP: Logged |
