I have three red oscars. One is a 2 yrs old and about 9 inches. Another is small and about 6 months old. The last is 9 months old and 7 inches.
The large and medium oscar are acting very strange this morning. When I woke, all the rocks were moved from a section of my tank and now they are chasing the smaller oscar like CRAZY!! They are picking up rocks and moving them to make more of a clearing on the bottom of the tank. Both large oscars are rubbing each other and fighting too.
Are these mating signs? Or is something wrong?
THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY!!!

Yup, sounds like it could be mating behavior.

What size tank are they in? Unless it's quite large, the 3rd oscar may get killed by the other two since mating oscars get VERY territorial.

77 gallon tank. 2 pelcos in the tank as well. Is there anything I should do? Or just let nature take it's course...???

If you can get another tank (at least 55 gallons), it would be best to move the 3rd oscar there. 75 gallons really is the bare minimum for 2 oscars and with 2 of them being a breeding pair, it's even more important not to overstock.

So tonight they have moved a flat rock into the center of the cleared gravel and are resting on the rock.
How many days will it take the fry to develop? Any help/tips would be wonderful. Thanks...

A lot of times (especially if the oscars are inexperienced) they will end up eating the eggs. Plecos are also notorious for eating eggs so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.

I've never actually bred oscars yet so my knowledge is fairly limited (mine have been doing the same thing yours are for about a month but no eggs yet ). Here is an excellent article on breeding oscars: http://www.oscarfish.com/cms_view_article.php?aid=5
