I just bought 2 electric yellows and they are pretty cool. What other kind of cichlids would be good to go with my yellows. Pink Convicts or colbat blues, Kennys, fire mouth or what? just give me any suggetions please thank.

What size is your tank?

Electric yellows (Labidochromis caeruleus) are from Lake Malawi and as a general rule, you don't want to mix lakes. They are one of the least aggressive Malawi cichlids, so I would suggest avoiding some of the more aggressive species. Also, do not mix them with new world cichlids like convicts and firemouths.

Here is a wonderful site with info on lots of Malawi cichlids: http://malawimayhem.com

My yellow labs do great with a mix of mbuna and peacocks. I'd get what you think is attractive, but stick with africans. I have a couple red zebra and cobalt and they are always mouth brooding and the babies hide in holeyrock (limestone) until they get bigger. They are wonderful fun, though a lot of water changes are necessary (at least once a week).

For a 29 gallon, you could probably fit another 3 or 4 africans in there (assuming their max size is about 5").
