My M. Auratus will come when I call him when I'm walking to the tank. In a high voice my mom and I say "Artie, Artie, where are you?" And he comes out of his cave. A very cool fish except that he is responsible for countless deaths because Wal-Mart sold him as a community fish.

My clown loaches are also very cool. I love to watch them suck the snails out of their shells. "Take that snails, I always win in the snail war", that what I think when I'm watching them.

I almost lost one of my oscars a while back.

I was up in my room getting ready for bed and I heard some banging downstairs, but I dismissed it as the cats. After about 10 minutes, I decided to investigate. I got down to the tank and saw water on the floor, looked into the tank and saw Charlie, but not Sherbert. Looked on the floor in front of the tank and saw Sherbert laying there. She had jumped, knocked open the glass lid, fell almost 4 feet, flopped 4 feet across a hard wood floor, and layed there for 10 minutes in a house that has 4 cats.

I picked her up and threw her back in the tank and Charlie was glued to her side and wouldn't budge. He kept getting between her and me and was pushing her to the back of the tank so I couldn't get a good look at her to see how badly she was hurt. So, I just dumped in some salt & melafix and 2 days later it was like it had never happened.

I believe I told this story once, but my friends and family have all heard it more than once, so you guys might as well too !
The heat in our apartment was malfunctioning and my goldfish tank was so warm that one of the goldfish was sickly and swimming eratically. In an effort to keep the tank cooler, I did a water change and left the canopy off for the night to allow better evaporation. I came out in the morning and was glad to see the sickly one was still alive. I looked down however and saw another one of my goldfish laying motionless in the bottom of my empty pail that I'd used the night before for water changes. I was sure he was dead, but when I picked up the pail to fish him out he started flopping around. He had manged to get into a groove around the edge of the bottom where there must have been just enough water to keep his gill wet. I put him back in the tank, although I figured the fall or stress would probably still kill him. He's still doing fine and growing well. It was just surreal that of all places he landed in the bucket and found the tiny bit of water left along the sides.

RECENTLY MY BOYFRIEND DECIDED TO ADD ANOTHER POWER HEAD TO OUR TANK. THEN WE LEFT FOR A DAY OR SO. WHEN WE GOT BACK MY POOR BABY HIATIAN GOT SUCKED INTO THE PLASTIC FILTER OF THE POWER HEAD. ALL BUT 3 OF HER TENICLES WERE RIPPED OUT OR MANGLED. SHE WAS SUCKED IN SO HARD THAT WE HAD TO CUT HER OUT. HER BODY HAD GOT HARD INSTEAD OF HER NORMAL SO SOFT YOU CAN'T FEEL IT.
ANYWAY ITS BEEN A WEEK NOW AND SHE'S FULL RECOVERED AND HER NEW TENICLES ARE ALOT MORE BEATIFUL THAN HER OLD ONES!!!

Hi fishfood, Glad your Hatian recovered. You may not be aware of it, but using all capital letters is considered SHOUTING.
