I have heard that feeding piranhas beefheart is bad. Is this true? IP: Logged |

I have never feed beefheart but I think the most common and correct answer would be it's o.k. for a treat every once and a while. You need to feed regularly with a staple-pellet or flake. ------------------ IP: Logged |

In general, you should avoid feeding meat from mammals to fish because it's very fatty and fish don't have a high enough body temperature to correctly digest it. HOWEVER, beefheart is an exception because it has very little fat. But as James said, it should only be used as an occasional treat. -Chelle IP: Logged |
