I was wondering if a needle nose gar would bother my oscar or would my oscar bother him. And does anyone have information on gars and African Butterfly fish. Could a African Butterfly fish go in with my oscar this is what African Butterfly fish look like.

My guess is with the gar being long & thin, the oscar will eventually eat it. I also wouldn't put the butterfly fish with an oscar because with a max size of 4", it will probably end up getting eaten too.

A lot depends on the size of the tank and the individual temperments of the fish, but here's a good article on possible tankmates:

i think that it depends on how large or small the oscar and the gar are. i have a needle-nose gar and if your oscar is smaller than the gar, the gar WILL eat the oscar. as far as an oscar eating a gar...i doubt it unless your oscar is full size...my best advise is to keep both fish well fed!!
