dont keep rocks that will fit in your Oscars mouth or look like the pellets you feed them.... my baby(.5") ate a rock and got jamed in his mouth... this morning i found him with a huge pebble past his lips and almost out of sight... it was a blue pebble that was in 1 of my other tanks that was in the fake plants plastic thing to hold it down... These are the only fish that ive ever had trouble keeping... ------------------ IP: Logged |

Wow. I know oscars like to dig, but I've never heard of one actually choking on a rock before.

ugg oscars are my favorit fish but i just cant keep them every other fish i have doing great! but oscars just dont like me. 1 thing i have some oscar pellets left and was wondering(most likely a stupid question)is it ok for the green terror?? or is ther difernt nutritinal needs? cuz i feed the gt cichlid pellets and feed the oscar hikari Cichlid stapel with a big picture of an O on it and the pac is green if that means anything? all the fish like it even the Silver dollers? is it ok what pellets are good for a green terror 2 convicts and 3 silver dollers?? i also add a little bit of alge flakes or something for the silver dollers cuz they herpavores, so is it alright if they munch on cichlid pellets? ------------------ early birg gets the werm! but the second mouse gets the chesse! I don't see why they couldn't be fed to other SA cichlids. I think they just put the picture of an oscar on the bag because that is the most recognized cichlid, not because the food is specifically designed for oscars. -Chelle IP: Logged |
