I just gave my red belly away, because after 2 years, I finally convinced my husband I didnt want a fish that could take my finger off! yay me! Anyways, my tank is cycled ect and ready for some nice peaceful fish that I am not afraid of.

I currently have a 66 gal, ehiem pro 2 filter, airator etc.

I would like to get 2 african dwarf frogs for the tank, and some peaceful fish that wont grow to large, and suggestions?

Thanks

Caldi.

I would get some guppies, mollies, swordtails, zebra danios, neon tetras and/or cory catfish.

Pearl gourami are lovely fish, esp males. get 3-4" inches grown. school of cory cats for the bottom. Also like the opaline gourami. gourmis will use all levels of the tank and will sometimes chase each other but nothing violent. avoid gold gourami, in particular males, they can be really aggressive. a nice top dweller is the golden panchax.
other fish that get 3-4" are rainbows. they tend to swim in the middle area of the tank.
these are some fish I have and still do really enjoy.
good luck!

Your best bet would probably be things like live bearers (guppies, mollies, etc), tetras, barbs, danios, maybe a couple gouramis, and some cory cats for the bottom. Pretty much all of those apply to the 1" adult fish/gallon rule so you can use it to figure out how many fish to get. But keep in mind some of them are schooling so you'll need to get at least 5.

Those are definitely not small, peaceful fish. In fact, they would probably be more likely to take your finger off than the piranha. You really should have done some research before buying them.

JD's will get 8" long and are generally VERY aggressive and territorial. Most people can only keep one by itself. Also, the bare minimum tank size for one is 55 gallons. Since they are so aggresive, for 2 you would need about 100 gallons.

Green terrors will also get 8" - 12" and are also very aggressive and territorial.

Quite frankly, having all 4 of them in a 66 gallon tank is just asking for trouble. I suggest picking one fish to keep and returning the others.

actually t-chelle, from my expierience and research i have found jack dempseys to not live up to there name, but actually be more of a peaceful cichlid (still aggresive towards community fish though.) im not saying anythnig about what you said is wrong, but maybe you just had some expieriences with an overly aggresive dempsey.

Well I guess Hubby and I were silly and listened to the fish store guy that sold them to us. Once they get to large I will be giving them back to the pet store that took our rbp. Our room mate has a few Jd's in a 50gal tank, mind you they are not very large, but he said they arn't bad, agression wise, he has had them for about a year now. Well I see how it goes, they are about a 2inch long. How fast will they grow in a 66gal?

Forget about the Dempseys worry about the Terrors they are MEGA aggressive i had to give mine to my brother when it got 5". It was very timid when i got him, then over night he turned and tried to kill my oscars!

He has him in his 55 gal with a Jack Dempsey and the Dempsey is terrified in the top corner of the tank all the time. and there is lots of caves and hiding places and the whole tank belongs to the Green Terror.

they are called Green TERRORS for ar reason its not just a clever name!!!!

Oh ya.. it took only 6 months to reach his 5".

Hi ,
Believe me, I started with GT's and JD's they are exteramly territorial and are greatly assgessive, I did not realize it till i lost many others. Even LFS Guys misguided me and bought them. Then i went through many articals and realised the character of these fishes.
