I had a real evil red tailed shark too. It was in a 25gal with six tetras and two balloon mollies. It killed them all off so i gave him away. i haven't bought another one since IP: Logged |

ive never had a bad experience with red tail sharks they do establish territor(like a cave) and will guardit from other fish. the extent of egresion is chasing it away.. the fish that i think are evil are dwarf goramies they pester other fish and "feal" them up with thier "fealers" IP: Logged |

thomas, your the exact reason that some people are not fit to take care of animals. just becuase u suspect the fish killed your guppys, you go out and burn it. this is almost like the salem witch trials, in which they were accused of being witches, so they were hung, w.o any proof of being witches what-so-ever. I have a black shark by hiself due to the fact of aggression. The only thing is I love this fish name I (oscar) being the grouch he is. He is not evil just will fight fishes till he is dead or they are so unless you want to keep these kind of fish by themselves I wouldnt buy one. The reason I am posting this is that they are alot like redtails from what I hear. IP: Logged |

My red-tails are great. Yes they are very territorial but if you research them BEFORE buying them or research them after having bought them, you will know the environment they thrive in. I have mine with several varieties of fish and they do just fine now after a little switching around and catering to THEIR needs. I agree, they can be a lot of fun to watch even with their aggressiveness. IP: Logged |

I love my redtail shark, he's active, fun to watch, and not overly agressive to my other fish. He's in a tank with a few varieties of barbs and a pictus catfish. They all get along fine aside from the natural territorial chasing that Ive seen in just about every tank. IP: Logged |
