I was in my local petsmart today, and once again bi*&$ed about an employee selling 5 baby oscars to a guy with an already stocked 55 gallon tank. This time I talked with the dept. manager. She offered me a position in the dept if only for my knowledge. What do you all think

Hi angelgirl2003, Tell them, SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Seriously though, if you think it's something you would like to do, go for it. If you think that you don't really have the time there are other possibilities. You could develop a training program and charge to train their employees. You could set that up for a training course quarterly for a one or two hour course. Possibly the first quarter would cover basic aquarium keeping - Second quarter, advanced aquarium keeping, Third quarter - small tropical fish, Fourth quarter - South American Fish (Cichlids), Fifth quarter - African Cichlids, Sixth quarter - Marine fish. With the sixth quarter, that can be broken down even farther such as: tank setup, cycling, medications and disease, vertabrates, invertabrates and so on. In between the quarters you will probably have to do some refresher courses for some of the employees and new hires. Another possiblilty instead of trainig sessions is to do a consulting service and charge on a per service basis. There are a lot of possibilities you can look at. Good luck.

Go for it. There's rumors of a Petsmart or Petco being built in a town 10 miles from here. If it does happen, I plan on applying just so I can help educate people.
